A note from our Chair

We are delighted to have announced the finalists of the Innovate Awards 2023, which celebrate best practice examples of collaboration in the adoption and spread of innovation across health and care. Delivered in partnership between the AHSN Network and NHS Confederation, the awards are now in their second year. We look forward to the awards ceremony on Thursday 21 September in London, where the winners will be announced.


Following the recent release of the new NHS England Long Term Workforce Plan, read our latest blog about how AHSNs are helping tackle the NHS workforce challenges through innovation.


In October we begin our third five-year licence as the soon-to-be renamed Health Innovation Networks and, running alongside our new licence, we are supporting NHS England with its NHS Innovation Ecosystem Review, led by Roland Sinker, which aims to improve and accelerate the innovation pathway into the NHS.

Innovate Awards 2023 finalists announced

The finalists for the Innovate Awards 2023 were recently announced following a rigorous round of judging over the last few weeks. A grand total of 191 entries from health and care teams across the country, covering 11 award categories, has been shortlisted to 56 finalists.

National Patient Safety Improvement Programme progress report


The NHS England patient safety team has released its quarter 4, 2022/23 progress report.
